Carlos Jay Dunlap, 50, of South Bend, IN passed away on Wednesday October 3, 2018 at Memorial Hospital, following a lengthy illness.

Carlos was born on June 20, 1968 to James and Betty Elaine (Morgan) Dunlap in Prescott, AR, and has lived in South Bend since 2001, coming from Chicago, IL.

He graduated from St. Willibrord High School in Chicago, IL, and then attended Western Illinois University.

Carlos worked as a Sales Rep at Bee Windows for 5 years. After Bee windows, he founded Praize Music Entertainment, where he was the CEO and President who managed gospel music promotions.

Carlos married Crystal Adams in 1993, they later divorced. Along with Crystal, he is survived by his daughter, Carneisha Dunlap of South Bend, IN; three sons, Cameron, Camari and Cavari Dunlap, all of Indianapolis, IN; two grandchildren, Kyra and Kassidy Palmer, both of South Bend, IN; his mother, Betty Elaine Dunlap of South Bend, IN; and two brothers, Chris (Katrina) Squire of Sewell, NJ and Mario Dunlap of South Bend, IN.

He was preceded in death by his father, James Dunlap; maternal grandmother, Lorene Stuckey; maternal grandfather, George Morgan; paternal grandparents, Willie and Izella Dunlap; and a niece, Kristen Squire.

Carlos loved gospel music and would do anything for anybody. He was a faithful member of Sweet Holy Spirit Church in Chicago, IL; and attended Faith Apostolic Church in South Bend.

A private Celebration of Life will be held by the family at a later date.

Carlos’s family would like to extend a special thank you to Davita Dialysis Clinic, Calvary Baptist Church, and the staff at WoodRidge Assisted Living for their loving care they provided to Carlos.
