Beulah Rose Sample, 88, died 10:20 a.m. Sunday, May 20, 2018, at West Bend Nursing and Rehabilitation, South Bend. She was born March 30, 1930 in Mishawaka to Lowell S. & Grace Naomi (Spangler) Fry. She married Kenneth Sample on Sept. 16, 1950 at the First United Methodist Church, Mishawaka, and he died April 8, 2012.
Surviving are 3 sons: Wayne Lowell (Diane) Sample of Niles, Michigan, John Melvin (Cathy) Sample, Reelsville, Daniel David (Kathleen) Sample, Elkhart, 3 daughters, Evelyn Rose (Daron) Goad, South Bend, Diane Grace (Bobby) Black, Florida, Marilyn Nellie (Travis) Blackburn, Elkhart, many nieces, nephews, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren and a brother-in-law, Harold Brown, Mishawaka.
Preceding her in death are her parents, husband, Kenneth, brother, George E. Fry and a sister, Naomi Louise Brown.
Beulah was a homemaker and a member of Solomon Creek United Methodist Church, Syracuse. She was a member of the Goshen Home Ec Club, Mapleleaf Quilters and Dear Jane Quilter. She enjoyed camping and was a member of the Airstream Club. Music was a big part of Beulah’s life, as she enjoyed singing in the Purdue Extension Choir and with her churches.
Visitation will be 12-1:30 p.m. Saturday, May 26, 2018, with the service following at 1:30 p.m. all at Kaniewski Funeral Home, 3545 North Bendix Dr., South Bend, Indiana 46628. Burial will follow at Riverview Cemetery, South Bend. Evangelist Calvin Schlabach will officiate. Memorial donations may be directed to the Alzheimer’s & Dementia Services of Northern Indiana or Milton Adult Day Services, both at 922 E. Colfax Ave., South Bend, Indiana 46617
