Betty B. Boggs, 100, of South Bend, passed away on Tuesday July 24, 2018 in her home. She was born on July 10, 1918, in South Bend, to the late Samuel and Madelon (Moore) Bourdon and was a lifelong area resident. On December 18, 1941, as Betty B. Bourdon, she married Paul A. Boggs, Sr., who preceded her in death on September 26, 1986. She was also preceded in death by two sisters, Alice Horn and Joan Kidder; and by three brothers, Jack, Richard and Ralph Bourdon. Betty is survived by her children, Carol Ann Herthoge of South Bend and Paul A., Jr. (Jackie) Boggs of Niles, MI; three grandchildren, Dawn Marie (Dustyn) Miller, Brian (Nichole) Herthoge and Nathanial Boggs; two great-grandchildren, Dylan Herthoge and Shelby Miller; and by two sisters-in-law, Ime and Midge Bourdon. Mrs. Boggs worked for Bendix during WWII (1935-1946) for 10 years as an assembler. She was a member of the First Brethren Church of Ardmore and a Boy Scout and Girl Scout Volunteer for 23 years. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday July 26, 2018 at the Kaniewski Funeral Home, 3545 N. Bendix Dr., South Bend. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday in First Brethren Church of Ardmore, where friends may visit one hour before the service. Burial to follow in Mount Pleasant Cemetery, South Bend.
