Anna M. Gaideski, 106, of Niles, passed away at Woodland Terrace on Thursday, April 6, 2017.

 

She was born on August 7, 1910, in Chicago, Illinois and lived most of her life in Niles. 

 

On September 27, 1930, she wed the late William Gaideski, Sr. who owned and operated Niles Automotive Supply for 26 years, on Front Street in Niles.  William passed away on November 6, 1971. 

 

She was the daughter of the late Anthony and Mary Pridavka.  She belonged to St. Mark Catholic Church of Niles, a member of St. Mark Christian Mother’s Society, and St. Mark Choir.  She was a volunteer for Pawating Hospital for 25 years, a Red Cross Blood Mobile volunteer for 25 years, and helped out at St. Mark church office for 20 years.

 

Anna is preceded in death by a daughter, Mary Ann Losievski; sister, Mary Van Patten; brother, Anthony Pridavka; daughter-in-law, Marilyn Gaideski; and two son-in-laws, Ted Losievski and Ralph White.

 

She is survived by her son, William J. Gaideski of Niles and daughter, Rosalie White of North Carolina; ten grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; several great-great-grandchildren; and sister, Margaret Sagat of Chicago, Illinois. 

 

A time of visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. on Sunday, April 9, 2017, at Kaniewski Funeral Home, located at 3545 N. Bendix Drive in South Bend; Rosary will be recited at 5:30p.m. at the funeral home.  Mass of Christian Burial on Monday, April 10 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Mark Catholic Church with visitation one hour prior.  Interment will follow at Calvary Cemetery.

 

Anna was a loving, kind, and giving Mother.
