Sister Dorine was born in Washington, DC and it was the Sisters of the Holy Cross who taught her at St. Patrick's Academy that nurtured her vocation. She taught in elementary schools for almost 50 years. Her East Coast roots and almost four decades of teaching in Texas gave a unique inflection to her speech. She died in peace at Saint Mary's Convent at the age of 93.

She was born on March 26, 1921 to the late Stanley, Sr. and Isabell (Campbell) Przestwor in South Bend, IN, and was a lifelong resident. Along with her parents; two sisters; and two brothers also preceded her in death.
