Sinda S. Piper

Sinda S. Piper, 70, of South Bend, Indiana passed away at 10:32 a.m. Thursday, April 19, 2018, in Kindred Hospital, Mishawaka, Indiana.  Sinda was born on September 28, 1947 in Chicago Heights, Illinois.  She retired from CVS on Western Avenue.  She had also been employed with Wells Fargo on Olive Street.  On November 7, 1970, in Indianapolis, Indiana she married William “Bill” Joseph Piper, who preceded her in death on October 21, 2012.  She was also preceded in death by her father, William Howard Pease; and her brother, Thomas Hilyard.  Sinda is survived by her mother,  Margaret Helen Murphy of South Bend, Indiana; her daughter, Michele (Melvin Walker) Piper of South Bend, Indiana; her son, Bill Piper of Washington, D.C.;  her grandchildren, Kayla(James Pellegrini) Cukrowicz and Dustin Walker; her great-granddaughter, Nevaeh Pellegrini; her sister, Barbara Simpson of South Bend, Indiana; her brother, William “Bill” Bonner of Ferry, Idaho; her aunt, Fran Sudderth of Wells Point, Texas; and by many nieces and nephews.  Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, April 26, 2018 in the Kaniewski Funeral Home, 3545 N. Bendix Drive.  Burial will follow in Mount Pleasant Cemetery. A visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, April 25, 2018 in the funeral home. Sinda was a member of Christ Chapel Church. She was a life member of the V.F.W. #9820 Ladies Auxiliary and a past Local District 3 Chairman of the VFW 9820.  She enjoyed gardening and shooting darts.  Memorial Contributions may be directed to the American Cancer Society.
