Ofelia Garcia-Cantu

Ofelia Garcia-Cantu, 69, of Mishawaka, Indiana passed away on Sunday, July 23, 2017, at St. Joseph Regional Medical Center. Ofelia was born on December 9, 1947 in Weslaco, Texas, to the late Salvador and Ofelia (Rebulcaba) Cantu. She is survived by her daughter, Priscilla Beattie of Mishawaka, Indiana; two sisters, Emma (Roberto) Cavazos  and Angelita (Dionicio) Zuniga both of Weslaco, Texas; two brothers, Ernesto (Rosa) Cantu of Weslaco, Texas and Carlos Cantu of South Bend, Indiana. She was preceded in death by one sister, Elva Bautista and one brother, Salvador Cantu.  She was the proud owner of King Gyros on McKinley St., where she enjoyed serving her loyal patrons of 25 years. She loved her dogs, Princess and Chula. She loved being surrounded by her nieces and nephews, and would often take them on outdoor activities. Ofelia loved to garden, cook, fish, and travel. Ofelia was known by her family and friends to have an awesome sense of humor. Visitation will be from 3:00 until 6:00 p.m. Friday, July 28, 2017, in the Kaniewski Funeral Home, 3545 N. Bendix Dr., South Bend, Indiana. A funeral service will be held at 6:00 p.m. in the funeral home, with The Rev.
