Margaret M. Piechocki

Margaret M. Piechocki, 89, of LaPorte, Indiana, formerly of South Bend, Indiana passed away at 1:40 a.m. Sunday, April 8, 2018 in  Aperion Care Arbors at Michigan City.  Margaret was born on February 24, 1929 in South Bend to Robert and Isabelle (Zielinski) McCay.  She had formerly been employed with the former J & A Grill on Portage Avenue in South Bend.  On May 23, 1953 she married Arthur J. Piechocki, who preceded her in death on March 7, 1996.  She was also preceded in death by four daughters, Susan Marie Piechocki, Vicki Richards, Cindy Hessling, and Debra Piechocki.  Margaret is survived by her daughter, Sharon Ross of Lakeville, Indiana; her son, Terry Piechocki of LaPorte, Indiana; three grandchildren, Theresa (Dale) Stringfellow, Shawna (Mike) Moreau, and Terry “TJ” Piechocki, Jr.; six great-grandchildren, Cameron Jamrozy, Mike “Mick” Moreau, Cheyanne Moreau, Nathaniel Moreau, Nicholas Moreau, and Avery Piechocki; and her sister, Roberta Kieffer of Michigan City, Indiana.  A Catholic Funeral Service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, April 12, 2018 in the Kaniewski Funeral Home, 3545 N. Bendix Drive.  Burial will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery.  A visitation will be held from 4:00 until 8:00 p.m. Wednesday in the funeral home.  Margaret enjoyed playing BINGO and slot machines.  Memorial Contributions may be directed to Dunes Hospice.
