Mabel Faye (Stanley) Groppe

Mabel Faye Groppe, 89, of Stone Mountian, Georgia, formerly of South Bend, Indiana passed away Wednesday, April 26, 2017 in Peachtree Christian Hospice, Duluth, Georgia.  Mabel was born on February 9, 1928 in Morgantown, West Virginia to Lewellyn and Viola (Radcliff) Stanley.  She retired in 1993 from RACO.  In February 1951 she married George V. Groppe, Sr. who preceded her in death on May 10, 1986.  Mabel is survived by her five daughters, Janet Martin of Stone Mountain, Georgia, Mary (Mark) Urbanski of South Bend, Indiana, Vi (Jeff) Nowicki of South Bend, Indiana, Tina (Kent) Bergland of Mishawaka, Indiana and Marilyn Milewski of South Bend, Indiana; her two sons, George (Barbara) Groppe, Jr. of Daytona Beach Shores, Florida and Paul (Tina) Groppe of Mishawaka, Indiana; her brother Zara Litton of Sutton, West Virginia; eighteen grandchildren; twenty eight great-grandchildren; and many great great-grandchildren.  Mabel was preceded in death by two sisters, Lucy and Hazel; and four brothers, Vick, Ray, Vernon and Earl. Funeral Services will take place at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, May 2, 2017 in the Kaniewski Funeral Home, 3545 N. Bendix Drive.  Burial will follow in Riverview Cemetery.  A visitation will take place from 4:00 until 8:00 p.m. Monday in the funeral home.
