Lloyd O. Sandsmark

Lloyd O. Sandsmark, 77, of South Bend, passed away on Sunday April 30, 2017 at Healthwin Specialized Care Facility, South Bend. He was born on December 31, 1939, in Columbus, IN, to the late Lloyd, Sr. and May B. (Rogers) Sandsmark. On July 25, 1967 he married Beatrice L. Grissinger, who survives. Along with his wife of almost 50 years, he is also survived by four daughters, Candy (Ricky) Wolfe of Lakeville, IN, Tammie (Rick) Marlowe of Caledonia, MI, Sandie Sandsmark of VanWert, OH and Renate Sandsmark; three sons, David Sandsmark of Albuquerque, NM, Michael (Debbie) Sandsmark of South Bend and Steven (Kerry Ann) Sandsmark of Mishawaka, IN; 21 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. Lloyd retired from Kroger Supermarket as a store manager, after being employed there for 35 years. He was a United States Army Veteran, enjoyed fishing and loved spending time with his grandchildren. Visitation will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday May 3, 2017 at the Kaniewski Funeral Home, 3545 N. Bendix Dr., South Bend. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, in the funeral home, where friends may visit for one hour prior to the service. The Rev. Gene Eckerley of the Community Brethren Church in Mishawaka will be officiating. Memorial contributions may be made to the Healthwin Residence Fund.
