Kathy Jo Marriott, 65, of South Bend entered the arms of Jesus on Wednesday April 12, 2017, at Saint Joseph Regional Medical Center, after a lengthy illness.
She truly loved being a mother and homemaker. She was an amazing mother and someone who saw goodness in everyone. She dreamed of applying her compassion to a career, but due to an illness was unable to finish her nursing program. Her beautiful smile and gracious nature charmed all who met her and continued to do so during a long period of extreme adversity.
Kathy Jo was born on April 26, 1951, in Beach Grove, IN, to the late Thomas and Mary Kay (Schaefer) Farrell. She is survived by her former husband David Marriott, her children, Beth Anne Marriott, Jason D. Marriott, Michelle M. Marriott, Kara K. Kelley and Kevin P. Marriott; and by grandchildren Alissa Marriott, Eve Marriott, Jason D. Marriott Jr. Michael C. Haywood, Sophia Marriott, Avery Kelley, and Lyla Kelley.
For many years she was an active member of Holy Cross Parish. She will always be remembered as a devout Catholic whose service to God, family, and others came before all else. In the face of adversity she displayed unwavering faith, strength, kindness, and love. On Wednesday night she was reunited with her loving parents and is dancing in Heaven.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday April 17, 2017, at the Kaniewski Funeral Home, 3545 N. Bendix Dr., South Bend, where a Rosary will be prayed at 4:30 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Tuesday April 18, 2017 at Holy Cross Catholic Church, with burial to follow in Saint Joseph Valley Memorial Park, Granger.
