James S. Keefe

James S. Keefe, 71, of South Bend, IN, passed away at 11:03 a.m. Friday, December 15, 2017 in his home, following an illness.

He was born on February 5, 1946 to the late Seymour and Clara Ann (Barber) Keefe in Dowagiac, MI, and has lived in South Bend most of his life. 

James was a U.S. Air Force Veteran, where he served his Country from 1963-1969.

He retired from Honeywell in June of 2001, where he worked in the Customer Service Department for 34 years.

On December 31, 1982, he married Claire Dalach in South Bend, IN.

James is survived by his loving wife of 35 years, Claire Keefe of Tel Aviv, Israel; one daughter, Michelle Keefe of Chicago, IL; one son, Phillip Keefe of Chicago, IL; three sisters, Lori Cox of Culver, IN; Lisa (Greg) Lundquist of Crumstown, IN; Beth Keefe of South Bend, IN; and a brother, Michael Keefe of Georgia.

A Memorial Visitation will take place from 4-8 p.m. Thursday, December 21, 2017 at Kaniewski Funeral Home, 3545 N. Bendix Drive, South Bend, IN, followed by a Time of Sharing at 8:00 p.m.  There will be no services.  Private burial will take place at a later date in Highland Cemetery, South Bend, IN.
