James L. Cronk

James L. Cronk, 79, of South Bend, Indiana passed away Friday, November 24, 2017 in his son’s home after a brief illness.  James was born on March 12, 1938 in South Bend to Harland and Gladys (Phillips) Cronk and was a lifelong resident.  He had been self-employed most his life and had also been employed with The Associates in South Bend.  He is survived by three daughters, Jalayne Cronk of South Bend, Indiana, Jill Cronk of Mesa, Arizona, and Janeen (Clint) Dolby of Houston, Texas; his son, Jason Cronk of South Bend, Indiana; two grandchildren, Chloe and Paige; one sister, Mary Ann (Donald) Hatch of Simi Valley, California; one niece, Kelli; and two nephews, Eric and Shannon.  James was preceded in death by his parents, Harland and Gladys Cronk.  A Memorial Service will be held at a later date.  James was a United States Army Veteran who enjoyed sailing, dancing, reading and books.  James loved to drink coffee and socialize at many South Bend cafes and restaurants.  Kaniewski Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
