Jalayne M. (Ream) Cronk

Jalayne M. Cronk, 73, of South Bend, IN, passed away Tuesday, November 28, 2017 at Memorial Hospital of South Bend. 

She was born on March 25, 1944 to the late Howard E. and Dorothy (Witte) Ream in South Bend, IN and was a lifelong resident. 

Preceding Jalayne in death were her parents, two brothers, Brian Ream and Douglas Ream, and her Aunt Marguerite and Uncle Carl Miller. 

She graduated from John Adams High School in 1962.  Jalayne retired in 2009 after 31 years from the South Bend Clinic.

Jalayne is survived by three daughters, Jalayne L. Cronk of South Bend, IN; Jill Cronk of Mesa, AZ; Janeen (Clint) Dolby of Houston, TX; one son, Jason Cronk of South Bend, IN; two grandchildren, Chloe and Paige; her fiancé, Edwin Kaczmarek of South Bend, IN; and her beloved dog, Wrigley. 

Jalayne was a member of Sigma Alpha Social Sorority of South Bend.  She loved quilting, decorating, crafting, sewing, and reading; was an avid Civil War enthusiast and had a unique sense of style.  Jalayne absolutely loved spending time with her children, grandchildren, and her dog, Wrigley.   She enjoyed traveling all across the United States with her fiancé, Ed.

Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Monday, December 4, 2017 at Kaniewski Funeral Home, 3545 N. Bendix Drive, South Bend, IN.

Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, December 5, 2017 at Kaniewski Funeral Home, South Bend, IN, with Rev. Donald Bayne, Jr. officiating.  Burial will follow in Riverview Cemetery.
