Harold "Jack" Hammond

 Harold "Jack" Hammond, 88, of South Bend passed away on Saturday June 17, 2017 at Cardinal Nursing Home. He was born in Mishawka to the late John B. and Mary Elizabeth (Hibschman) Hammond. On October 14, 1950, he married Carol A. Arch, who survives. They just recently celebrated their 66th Wedding Anniversary. He is also survived by his daughter, Judy (John) Hodgson of South Bend; three sons, Cris A. (Kim) Hammond of South Bend, Dirk J. (Rhonda) Hammond of New Palestine, IN and Bruce M. (Colene) Hammond of Mishawaka; six grandchildren, Matthew D. (Ashley) Hammond, Rachel M. (Adam) Sullivan, Samantha L. Hammond, Jackson W. (Megan) Hammond, Nicole and Austin Hammond; four step-grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and by 10 step great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his sister, Ruby West. Jack worked in the South Bend Insurance Industry for 30 years, where he retired as a manager of 1st Source Insurance. After retirement, Carol and he relocated to Florida for a number of years, where he managed a gated community for 11 years before returning to Indiana. He was a former member of the Masonic Lodge, an outdoorsman, avid reader and a very hardworking, helpful person. There will be no services.
