Fred S. Miller, Jr., “The Hog Man," 62, of New Carlisle, Indiana passed away on Saturday April 1, 2017 in LaPorte Hospital.  Fred was born on August 29, 1954 in LaPorte, Indiana to Fredrick S. and Maude (Bates) Miller who both survive. On November 20, 1999, Fred married Mary Elizabeth (Meehan) Miller who survives.  Along with his wife and parents left to cherish Fred’s memory are three daughters; Alivia Ann Miller of New Carlisle, Indiana, Dianne Lyn Taylor of Buchanan, Michigan, and Kaylee Elizabeth Hartley of New Carlisle, Indiana; one son Boyd D. Hartley III of Buchanan, Michigan; seven grandchildren; Nolan, Neeson, and Danica Taylor, Riley Gamso, Hayden Harrison, and Kennedy and Channing Hartley; two sisters Mary (Doc) Youngblood of Rolling Prairie, Indiana and Sherri (Rick) Hein of New Carlisle, Indiana;  three brothers Dale (Lori) Miller, Raymond (Susan) Miller, and Jack (Vickie) Miller all of New Carlisle, Indiana; one sister-in–law, Cathy Kurzhal; and three brothers-in-law, James (Nancy) Meehan, Michael (Jessica) Meehan and Patrick Meehan. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews. Fred was preceded in death by his daughter, Lindsay Marie Hartley. Funeral Services will take place at 2:00 p.m. E.S.T., Thursday April 6, 2017 in the Kaniewski Funeral Home, 3545 N. Bendix Drive, South Bend, Indiana. Visitation will take place from 4:00 until 8:00 p.m. Wednesday and from 12:00 Noon until 1:45 p.m. Thursday in the funeral home. Fred was a man who not only put everyone else before himself, but a man who cherished the people who surrounded him. He smiled every chance he could and constantly filled rooms with laughter. He was the greatest father, most amazing Papa, and the happiest man. Memorial contributions may be directed to the Future Farmers of America (*please specify in memory of Fred S.
