Delores A. Cholasinski died suddenly at her home, on Friday, March 31, 2017. She was 81. Delores was born on August 12, 1935 in South Bend, Indiana to John and Helen Yandl. She attended Oliver Elementary School and graduated from Riley High School. In her youth, Delores enjoyed participating in Hungarian Festival Dances. A passion she retained throughout her life both on and off the dance floor. She spent the major years of her career working payroll at The Ridge Company. Delores married Billy J. Cholasinski on November 10, 1956 in Our Lady of Hungary Church. They lived a long and eventful marriage of 46 years leaving South Bend in 1987 to retire in Long Beach, MS. Delores returned to South Bend in 2005 after Hurricane Katrina. Delores was a kind and loving Mother and devoted Wife. Her strength of character was evident in the way she rebuilt her life after the defining moment of Hurricane Katrina. Delores loved visits from family for good conversation, food and to watch TV. Delores is preceded in death by her husband, Billy J. Cholasinski, her parents, John and Helen Yandl, a brother, Ronald Yandl, a daughter-in-law, Susan M. Cholasinski, and a sister, Helen M. Yandl. Left to cherish her memory, a son, Rick A. Cholasinski, a daughter, Susan A. Karim (Brent F. Smith), a  brother, John (Ann) Yandl, a sister Debra (Larry) Omer, grandchildren, Akil S. Karim, Muneera I. Karim, Tammy (Danny) St. Clair, Sheryl (Dan) Forenczi, Christy (Eric) Shriver, eight great grandchildren, three great-great grandchildren, and nieces and nephews. In honoring Delores’s wishes there will be no services. Cremation has taken place. A private interment of cremated remains will take place at Highland Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to The Center for Hospice and Palliative Care. Kaniewski Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. A long life, a good life.
