Christel Prascak

Christel Prascak, 76, of Three Oaks, Michigan passed away at 1:25 a.m. Saturday, November 25, 2017 in her home.  Christel was born on March 30, 1941 in Breslau, West Germany.  She had been employed for 8 years with the Walmart store in LaPorte.  On June 10, 2002 she married Kirk Penke, who survives.  She is also survived by three daughters, Donna (John) Tavano of Sebring, Florida, Barb (Doyle) Rogers of Michigan City, Indiana and Tina (Ray Spencer) Hawkins of LaPorte, Indiana; one son, Rick Hawkins of Vermont; 10 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; and by her brother in Germany.  Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. E.S.T. Tuesday, November 28, 2017 in the Kaniewski Funeral Home, 201 S. Filbert Street, New Carlisle, Indiana.  Burial will follow in New Carlisle Cemetery.  A visitation will take place from 1:00 p.m. E.S.T. to 2:00 p.m. E.S.T Tuesday in the funeral home.  Christel loved to garden and always kept her yard in pristine condition.  She loved animals, especially dogs and cats.  Memorial Contributions may be directed to ASPCA (American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals.
